Chapter 16

The Proof for the Enemy (Satan and Ego)

Preface: This situation is obvious to everybody that if there were no obstacle on the way of a person, he would definitely succeed in fulfilling his wishes. Now, we observe with wide exposure this universe, the periods of time and developments where we came to existence from non-existence, followed by childhood, youth and old age until finally, doubtlessly like past generations, we face death.

Then why Man does not perceive the following truth?

The Almighty Lord has created him and all ages of world and world's inhabitants, not in vain. Undoubtedly, the Almighty Omnipotent Who is manifesting to us in this perishing world aspects of His Power, there is no problem for Him Almighty preparing the Everlasting and Permanent World as well, for the righteous and pious ones. As He states:

"Paradise is decorated or will be adorned for pious ones."¹

Thus, why and what has become the barrier on Man's way to approach Almighty God? Sure! Satan, or the eternal and innate enemy of Mankind. You will become further well-informed with a portion of these conflicts, throughout the following questions and answers.

1. Have you noticed? There is enemy or opponent for everything and object. Accordingly, the entire world is as contradiction, and the stability of the world is formed on the basis of this contrariety.

2. Have you noticed? For annihilation of Man's body and other living creatures, there are visible things such as, wild animals, where they in turn are one another's consumptions, and there are other enjoined consumers as well. Likewise, there are other eaters appointed. For instance, for birds, besides the hawk and sparrow hawk, the cat as well as others are also the enemies for the body of birds and small wild animals.

3. Have you noticed? Besides the physical enemies for living creatures among whom Man is also included, most of the strong beasts such as lion, tiger, wolf and bear etc., are after annihilating Mankind. However, due to the virtue of his knowledge and exclusive innate nobility, Man has been able to defeat and eradicate them all, or to restrict their activity zone and to subdue them. As a result of which today human beings can freely go to anywhere and any place, without worry, and secured from their harm. Unfortunately, he has not gotten in peace from the side of his own fellow human beings and their harms.

4. Have you noticed? Man, contrary to all living creatures, possesses an outer physical ability as well as inner abilities of both an exploring intellect and a refined soul. Therefore, there exist two enemies for Mankind, his physical enemies such as harmful insects and beasts for instance, lion, tiger and wolf etc. In this case, all living creatures face their own particular killer. However, Man, besides facing the bandits on his way to nearness of Glorious God and the killer of this power, he faces various inner quarrels, which are unfortunately not understood by most human beings.

5. Have you noticed? Human beings are also sharing with other living creatures from the first aspect. However, the enemy of Mankind's inner forces is Satan, who does not let Man rest for a single minute, making Mankind face with various deceits and devastations, overthrowing him in different kinds of pits and finally bringing Man to denial of God, agnostics or polytheism.

6. Have you noticed? As we briefly proved above, there is an enemy for each creature or thing. Therefore, Heart also being an existent or a perfect and competent computer in the entire body of Man, it must somehow have an enemy, which is called Satan. At the time of being heedless of God and Hereafter, Satan will get the control on it. As, the Messenger of God Muhammed (peace be upon him), has stated:

"Devil fastens to Man's Heart; Devil unfastens while man engages in remembrance of Almighty God, and as heedlessness takes over Man, he resumes activity of generating temptations."

7. Have you noticed? And have you ever noted this truth and astonishing secret? While talking happily or even at leisure times, what motive does involuntarily convey unpleasant impressions into your Heart, the remembering of which are actually not necessary at all, but rather they are reflected from seeing or hearing something insignificant? If, the person is not careful, it gradually creates restlessness and even takes away people's sleep. This is infused and enlarged by Satan.

8. Have you noticed? Unfortunately, most people have not perceived the disguises of this malicious creature (Satan). Therefore, instead of beasts being after humans, Satan has put the humans themselves after one another, due to stimulations of human and jinni Devils. If you take a look and study the pages of history, you will come to know that all the killings and massacres of the atomic age and the past centuries have been the result of devilishness of this malicious creature which he has carried out in consequence of the cooperation of human Devils.

9. Have you noticed? Satan by using the corrupt and excessive desires of Nuclei of Ego and lust finds the opportunity of suggesting the disguises to Man. Satan, thereby through this resource, no matter what possibility to use, entangles Man with all miseries, and finally makes the person deprived of the wealth of faith.

10. Have you noticed? Why human beings with all their perception, intelligence, and broad exposure in this world of full excitements and anxieties-each thing of which is witness and expressive of the existence of One, God the Almighty-still oftentimes some people fall into the pits of deviation by following the ego and the guidance of human and Jinni-Devils, then come to denial of Almighty God and the calling to account of the day of judgment?

11. Have you noticed? The Being Who has kept continuous this entire recurring order for millions of years, has been and is always producing all these favors out of worthless soil, creates a period of thirty to forty years of youth, and periods called four seasons; undoubtedly, can out of better soil grant better-quality favors, with endurance of thousands of years at a place with pleasant season like spring and everlasting youth.

فَاعتَبِرُوا يَا اُولِی الاَبصَار

Though observing all these variations and periods of months and years, and galaxies, they deny the Everlasting Permanency.

12. Have you noticed? There is ego in other living creatures as well. Since, there is limited knowledge in them called instinct (sho'or), and also their purpose is to fill stomach and to fulfill this purpose is one of the greatest desires of ego, therefore, they are not making as much effort in obtaining the pleasures. For instance, you may feed some vegetarian animal in stall for month only straw. By as soon as you let it free in a clover land, it eats only the top of these grasses, and it tramples the rest, or even makes dirty, without paying attention to the fact that a single stem of clover is better than straw.

13. Have you noticed? Human ego maintains the same core characteristic, but contrarily, besides securing life, it has been mixed with excessive luxuries and corrupt desires, which become grounds for brutality and oppression. Even besides securing his own life, when that Nucleus is prevailing and when the person is influenced under the reign of the corrupt desires suggested by Satan, Man involuntarily makes efforts and tries for the comfort of future generations as well.

14. Have you noticed? In the body, soul is like electricity, and ego like a tank of fuel working towards keeping the body active. Similarly, Heart is like the Steering Wheel. Sometimes, the Angel takes command of the Steering wheel and thereby, the person is made active to good deeds. Some other times, Satan has control, then the same person is involved in mischief.

15. Have you noticed? There are opposite forces engaged in contention in the body (the force towards Insight into Glorious God and attachment with His Boundless Glorious Being, and the force opposing the acquaintance with Glorious Him and His Existence). The later one is infused by Jinni-Devils and their corrupt followers (human Devils), engaging in various kinds of propaganda activities in order to mislead human beings. Their ultimate wish is to bring the absolute Denial of Insight into Him Almighty and even of Almighty God's Existence, and this is it, no greater sin than which exists in the Presence of Him Almighty.

16. Have you noticed? Comfortable life with peace of mind can be achieved to Mankind, when he succeeds to continually establish Angel or the good-Inspirations-relayed-from-the-Sacred-World, behind the Steering wheel of Heart. Otherwise, he must always face contentions.

17. Have you noticed? The sophistries propagated by human-Devils who are following the disguises of Jinni-Devils have thrown Mankind quite a distance away from planning how to struggle against this cunning and clever enemy, saying that Satan does not exist. Therefore, the peace and comfort for Mankind, especially in this atomic age when Man is heading towards dominating other planets as well, is tending totally towards disappointment. Hence, both parties, the East and the West are placed on the annihilating precipice of an atomic arm race. If the Grace of Almighty God will not get involved, then besides the human race, all living creatures on land and even in oceans will be annihilated by a single indication because they have not engaged in defending against their core enemy (Satan). Rather, Satan has betrayed them so much they are denying the existence of Satan and Satan's instant by instant disguises.
