Chapter 15

Bring Sincerity in Deeds and Words, they are Being Recorded

Preface: In many past topics you studied that Man is subject to being tested, and Almighty God has also emphatically stated in many places in the Intact Qur'an of Islam:

"Surely, I try you, which of you is accomplishing the best of deeds."¹

And also,

"Truly, you will be tested with something of fear and hunger, and harm to property, lives, fruits and other revenue resources."²

And also,

"Do people think that they would be at ease merely affirming the statement, "We believe," and that they will not be tried?"³

The answer is Positive.

There are hundreds of other examples, which are all conveying this truth to sincere-hearted Muslims, so that they may know that at all instants and everywhere, in these struggles of ups and downs of life, they are under the control of guardians.⁴ These guardians are recording all their motions, words and deeds without the least negligence. They are called Honorable Recorders,⁵ enlightened in explicit verses of the Glorious Quran. Thus, what is a monotheist person and a Muslim required to do? Sure! There is one way the person ought to be always attentive of his states in all acts and words. He should allow such pictures of his excellent secrets and accomplishments to be photographed and recorded, so that in the Hereafter, at the presence of Almighty Lordly Being and the presence of all human, he would neither be ashamed of his deeds nor of his attitude in this dreamlike life.

Therefore, it is indispensable that one may be fully engaged in cleverness in terms of his tasks at hand whether verbal or practical. In summary, in all minor and major matters, he should so dynamically play his roles as similar to a movie star playing roles in a movie, where the movie star fully comprehends and realizes that all his appearances are being photographed, filmed and will be subjected to display for the spectators. Having perceived this reality, we ought to fulfill our affairs and duties with full sincerity and excellent ambition filled with affection, exclusively for happiness of Him Almighty in such a way that we would, with the help of Almighty God, astonish most of the observers and viewers. Similarly, it is necessary for believers to be fully alert in securing the framework of their deeds and words. They ought to excitingly and heroically strive to manage their deeds and words with the necessary honesty, sincerity and devotion. It should be mentioned that the movie of the movie stars are watched by some human beings, however, the movie of the lifetime of each individual descendant of Adam, adorned with good and evil deeds will be watched by the Great Creator in here as well as in the resurrection day, for the purpose of calling to account!

"Awake asleep ought to be with us
So he may see dreams in wakefulness." - Mathnawi

1. Have you noticed? The world having four recurring seasons are manifested to us by passing through its cycle of night and day, successively preparing, with permission of Almighty God, its destined and provisioned products bound by time and location, for our lives' movies to be filmed. It is engaged in its invariable activity and operation for the purpose of ultimate stabilizing good and evil accomplishments report of human beings while most of us are in a state of unawareness.

2. Have you noticed? It is only Man on the planet of earth whose words and deeds, voices, and jests are being recorded in especial recorders of his appointed Guardians who are placed on his right and left shoulders. In the Hereafter, this will be given to him as his Record-of-Deeds, so that he may receive the consequent rewards or punishments. Almighty God says:

"Read your Record-of-Deeds, this issued document of your words and deeds is sufficient for you."⁶

3. Have you noticed? The writers of deeds (the Honorable Recorders)⁵ are similar to audio-recorder apparatus, which records the sentences, or words, but do not know their meanings. The difference being merely that in a tape the good and evil about the talker's sentences are not known, but in that (Record-of-Deeds) they are separated in such a way that the goodness are written by the Angel-Guardian on the right shoulder, and the wickedness by the one on the left shoulder.

4. Have you noticed? How the separation of characteristic of deeds or words of a person in terms of distinguishing the good and evil deeds is done, in those cassettes filled with estates and qualities of circumstances and reports? Sure! While recording if a bright light emanates from Heart due to these statements, or acts etc., it means that deed is good, however, if the light is not emanated, then that word or act is corrupt.

5. Have you noticed? While recording words or acts, there appears in tape some kind of ebb and flow, due to acts and words. These flows are caused by the radiation of Heart's compassion (Light of Faith). We can say that such acts are better than all other deeds. This has been called by Almighty God as sincerity in deeds.

"Beware that Exalted God merits sincerity in legitimate deeds."⁷

6. Have you noticed? While accomplishing whatsoever good act or words, its line is definitely connected in that occasion to Nucleus of Monotheism of Heart or the Center of Faith. The more sincerity increases in it, that is it is carried out purely for sake of Almighty God, proportionally, Angels by observing it, will, by the permission of God, increase and multiply the reward. Of course, at the end, Almighty God will add another excess on it.

7. Have you noticed? Sometimes Satan opportunistically injects corrupt excitements under the name of sincerity in deeds, and makes the persons sentimental. Finally, it results in that good deed either not to be accomplished, or accomplished but with discontentments. The circumstance harms the luminosity of doer's action. For instance, in good deeds, the person may act stubbornly or for the sake of some dispute. Or, sometimes, other people's holding back compels him, in the form of social competitiveness, to accomplish that good deed. One needs to be careful for it to be fulfilled purely for the sake of God. Otherwise, through the weapon of hypocrisy, Satan would render it poisoned and rejected⁸.

8. Have you noticed? If the committed believers⁹ do not succeed accomplishing some good deed, and if the uproar of intention for planning and accomplishing that deed is too much in his Heart, then he is still counted as the fulfiller of the accepted accomplishment, and full recompense will be given to him. He will be given as exactly the rewards as the person who has actually fulfilled that accomplishment.

"The believer's intention for a good cause is better than his deed." (Hadith, al-Bukhari)
