Chapter 12

A Glance at the Living Creatures,
and the Differences in their Creation

Preface: By now, you have had a glimpse of the fruits and trees in the surroundings. Therefrom, you have obtained, with the help of Almighty God and the guidance of the instructors of Madrasa-e Tawheed, the necessary truths, resulting in purity upon purity. Hence it would be appropriate to ponder the circumstances and reports about the living creatures in our environment, as what molds they were shaped in. They have stepped out, by the command of God, from non-existence into existence in variety of kinds and shapes on land and in the oceans, again for being utilized by mankind.

There are not only great wisdom behind their creation and full benefits received therefrom to mankind, rather it makes the sincere-hearted faithful ones think, as what had these animals of various living orders done, that they are bound to these variety of statues and given these hardship bearing appearances and figures. And they were put to mankind's access to bear hardship, carrying loads and difficulties with total obedience.

Astonishingly, in spite of all obedience, and the particular Remembrance of His Holiness Great Evolver, the fur cloak of a dog, cat or any other animal can not be removed and no change can be brought in their created statues until the instant of resurrection through any kind of obedience.

If we were to ponder a more precise point, indeed it will be well enlightened in the hearts of sincere and aware people that since basically the creation of all these living creatures has been for better organization of mankind's life, and to make man conscious, for the sake of human beings, all these living creatures are made to wander with various hardships on mountains and in deserts, and to run and struggle here and there in the oceans and on the land.

Those classes among them needed by man are made domestic, and the rest are still left with half domestic or some with wild life.

In any case, there will be secrets poured in the hearts of aware ones by studying and seeing these states. Consequently it will plunge the faithful ones in the ocean of astonishment seeing this Grace of the Unique Generous One.

It shows to us that O! Man, O! vicegerent of the Lord of the earth and time, awaken after all, abandon the deviated paths and the denial of the Bestower of all these luminosities, secrets, fruits, trees, and stones. Do thanksgivings for these favors and thousands of others, which the Creator has granted us with special grace. Submit to Him, and distance yourself from following the ego (Nafs) reigned by satanic temptations in the fields of deviation.

There is no doubt that this attitude will take us headlong towards meriting the Nearness of His Unique One Almighty Being.

This kind of study, though it may be short, yet a minute of it is equivalent to a year of worship according to Sincere Reporter, peace be upon him, as he is stating that:

Translation: One hour pondering on the favors bestowed, and on the secrets and mysteries, and wisdom behind the way that the Exalted and Glorious Artificer has created them, is equivalent to sixty years of worship; rather more virtuous.

What a short way and more perfect than hundreds of extra prayers for everybody, while most people do not even understand the meaning of the recitation of Qur'an and the meaning of obedience. Except for special sounds of the tongue and shakings of the head or other accustomed movements accompanied by hundreds of temptations, there is no other outcome.

1. Have you reflected? There are differences in appearances and talking among human beings, even each individual's voice is distinctive. Generally the voices of males are distinctive from the females. Likewise in each category of living creatures, in their own views, there are distinctive appearances and voices within that species.

Have you noticed that the female or male of sparrow, ring dove, pigeon and the rest do not associate with other than his or her own mate, even though they appear all alike in our view.

Indeed, the Most Strong Trustee (Qawee ul-Wakeel) and the Loving Handsome (Wadood ul-Jameel), is Exalted He.

2. Have you reflected? That all living creatures, especially the ones living on land, each group has its own particular language for conveying the message. Thereby they establish communication. For example, the chicken's young know their mother's language. The mother calls the children by making the especial sound of kut, kut, whenever she finds food. Immediately the children rush towards that location, then start picking up and eating them.

How All-Knowing ('Aleem) and Wise (Hakeem) is Glorious God.

3. Have you reflected? Even though externally the structure of larynx seems generally to be alike, the voice of each species differs significantly from the other. For example, sparrow, pigeon, ring dove, and hundreds of other examples. You may ponder, whether amongst the birds or animals, one way of pronunciation differs from the other. This has been given and taught to each from the beginning, by Exalted Glorious God.

Praise be to God, how Great is Glorious God.

4. Have you reflected? These distinctions in the category of birds are considerable. Even though each species has its own language and particular way of living, still each individual living creature has its separate way of life, tongue, remembrance of God's Names, levels of growth, and living in a distinct time and location.

This is a portion of wisdom of the Glorious All-Knowing ('Aleem), Exalted Able (Qaadir), Almighty Self-Subsisting (Qayyum), Almighty Generous (Kareem), and Glorious Most Merciful (Raheem).

5. Have you reflected? Birds, like us, consist of communities and groups. Each group and category has its own specific language and particular remembrance of God. As the intact Qur'an of Islam has referred to it and it states as following:

"… and there is no bird that flies on its wings, but they are communities like unto you (mankind), namely, they are all followers of particular faith, ideology, and customs."

6. Have you reflected? Each group of living creatures praises Almighty God in special words and in their particular language. As the glorious Qur'an has mentioned about it:

"Whatever is in the heavens and on the earth praises God."

7. Have you reflected? The praising and remembrance Dhikr of some can be understood to some extent by the human sense, but most we do not understand. As for instance, cocks are saying Qaadir-Ullah (Allah is Able), and the truthful hens are clearly saying Haq (the Truth).

Likewise, there are other birds, such as, ringdove, which call Almighty God by the Name of Yaa-Kareem (O! the Generous). Similarly, most of them are mentioner of God's Names and are praising Him Almighty.

Indeed the All-Knowing 'Aleem and Wise Hakeem, is Exalted God.

8. Have you reflected? All animals, birds, insects, and wild beasts know well one another's language within their own species. By paying a little attention, you can find out that, for example, during the summer season, swans, cranes, loons, quails, partridges, and many other birds come in groups, from hot areas to more mild areas, especially to our country (Afghanistan). This conveys to us that they not only know one another's language rather well arrange their common departure's time, and they all, in order to fulfill their plan, move in groups under the command of their leader, with full knowledge of trajectory.

9. Have you reflected? They have an astonishing perception for the arrival of the favorable season of their journey, without having any calendar or ways to track the months and years. More surprisingly, how could their leader let them know of the departure time? They do not mistake the journey in space even though the pilot cannot find his direction of journey and destination unless he is well-educated and equipped with charts and all that.

Praise be to Allah, Our Lord, the Most High ('Alee) and Great ('Azeem); His Wisdoms are Strong (Qawee), Omniscient ('Aleem) and Wise (Hakeem).

10. Have you reflected? On this basis, if you were to pay attention to the lifestyle of ants , their language, conversation and intellect, and if you pondered their particular tribal mysteries, you would face a world of secrets. They even differ from one another by face, even though in our view, each dynasty appears to be alike. In their own views and perception, in the same way that we human beings apparently look with same outlook while having individual distinctions, they also differ from one another by specific signs and marks.

How Omnisciently Wise Hakeem is the Supreme Kibriyaa Almighty God.

11. Have you reflected? Whenever one of the ants finds a big object or an excess food supply, it immediately goes to the nest and lets others know. They arrive organized under this or another ant's leadership and rush towards that particular thing or object. Within a short time, they transport it to their home. This in itself proves their understanding of language and particular perception. There are more truths about them, you may find them, if you would ponder.

12. Have you reflected? There are tiny ants, which are called roghani ants. Their mouths are small, and their ability is weak. Therefore, Exalted God has created some strong and big ones among them, which are useful in place of their bulldozers or cranes. They break the big pieces into many smaller pieces to become transferable and proportional to the carrying power of other ants.

How Omnipotent (Qaadir) Self-Subsisting (Qayyum) is the Great ('Azeem) and Wise (Hakeem) God.

13. Have you reflected? Ants and some other small minorities such as beetles and mice and the like are the only exceptions among insects, birds, and reptiles that are reserving nutrition for their winter seasons. No other living creature makes any greater effort than for its daily bread.

14. Have you reflected? This attitude actually does not exist at all among birds. They do not reserve the nutrition for their future, even for the very next day. It is the Almighty Nourisher of all creatures, Who is providing the worlds' inhabitants with their nourishments, without any fixed sources.

"Verily, Almighty God is the Nourisher of sustenance possessing unbreakable and full Might and Power."

15. Have you reflected? Due to their perfect and high reliance on Almighty God, they are given the privilege of flight. For human beings, however, it is not forbidden to reserve from lawful ways, up to a year's full consumption. This is in accordance with the stipulations of Hadith, and the tradition of the Prophets, peace be upon them.
