MAN AND THE SECRETS OF NEARNESS
Translator's Introduction
Living in the era of computers and satellites, the speed of computation and communication
has improved from days and hours all the way to microseconds and nanoseconds.
Accordingly, the noble epistle of Man and the Secrets of Nearness has built the fastest and
shortest path of communication of Man to Glorious God, by saying,
"Just reading these Epistles and practicing accordingly will cause the Inner Light
(Noor -e- Batin) to grow instant by instant, and this will increase with every repeated reading."
This is a most valuable achievement giving to Mankind a profound knowledge about the core
of the Qur'an, namely Rooh (Soul) and Nafs (the Ego), the two principal entities in human beings.
The seeker of God hereby invited to read it patiently and experience the communication
(the inner enlightenment, and enthusiasm) himself.
Man and the Secrets of Nearness is one of the fifty-two books written and compiled by this Great
Muslim scholar in Kabul, Afghanistan, mainly in the central prison, Dehmazang, between the years
1940 to 1950. Six volumes, which are special series, are translated, but so far only this one and
the First Goblet for the Fortification of Faith are published, and soon, with God's help, the
other ones will be published as well.
Despite of all our inefficiencies from the linguistic viewpoint, as well as understanding from
the precious text of the book, due to the urgent need in society, we undertook this effort of
translating and publishing this epistle in English.
For the honorable reader's convenience and better understanding, we have tried our best to
incorporate some pictures and explain some of the terminology's in the form of footnotes and
glossary. An appendix and index are added to hold complete versions of Ahadeeth and for further
research. Islamic calligraphies are put in order to add on to the beauty of the text and, in order
to familiarize the reader with the precious text in the original version, we have inserted some
Dari (Persian) or Arabic terms beside the translated ones, along with the introduced Transliteration
System.
Man's nearness to Glorious God is the purpose of our creation. The secrets of nearness to Glorious
God are really hidden in Man himself, and therefore we are delighted to learn Who Man Is throughout
this Noble epistle.
