THE INJECTION OF THEIR COMMUNIST IDEOLOGY
by Khalid Ihsan
My speech related to Mawlana Faizani Sahib life will cover those areas which have a connection with some of the memories of my own life. At a time when the Soviet Union was trying to inject their communist ideology into our young people - by means of brain washing, and using their poverty as a tool to convert them to communism, there stood a man who firmly denied their ideology and worked hard to stop its spread all over Afghanistan. This was Mawlana Faizani Sahib, a great leader who was merely interested in stabilizing and improving the life condition of the everyday Afghan person, and seeking the liberation of Afghanistan.
He had devoted his entire life to the service of his people. He was constantly busy in writing books and speaking to people on different social and national issues. He used all available means and techniques against the enemies of that time. He was imprisoned several times, however he never stopped his intellectual fight against the communist and the opponents of faith. He never surrendered himself to those who opposed him and who saw him as a threat to their interests.
I became acquainted with Mawlana Sahib in 1969 (1348 Afghan Solar Calendar). He had an extended and profound knowledge not only in religion, but also in the areas of other contemporary sciences. He had a brilliant political mind, even in his prison cell he used to have his own short-wave radio listening to different news channels every night. He had a great interest in writing books for the guidance of the society. Back in the 60's and 70's to posses a type writer was a luxury that only a few could afford, however Mawlana Faizani had one in his prison cell.
He had a profound knowledge of all Islamic and governmental Laws and Regulations that existed at that time. He was assisting the prisoners extensively and was compiling documents for their defense as a lawyer would do for his client. I was also assisted by Mawlana Faizani Sahib, who prepared my defense for the court; as a result my case was dismissed.
Sadly, Daoud Khan and the communists had an absolute determination to remove Mawlana Faizani Sahib from their way, and they put into action the most inhumane means of torture hoping to break the roaring spirit of Mawlana Faizani and his followers.

O' Bestower, Sovereign and Holy!
O' Great, Merciful and Generous God,
That the hearts of people are between
The two fingers of Your Being;
Turn all these hearts
(of us, companions, supporters, friends, all Muslims and all children of Man of our time)
as far as You will, towards Yourself,
for practicing Your commands, leaving the forbidden, and knowing Your Unique Being,
for the sake of Your names piled up Hidden,
Great, Exalted and Greatest of Great.
We are defeated, give us victory
For the sake of Your Honor and Glory;
O' The Most Pure and Holy;
Hurry for its acceptance, O' The Fulfiller of all Needs.

"Being arrested and imprisoned seven times, pounding 18 thousand sticks,
receiving successively electronic shocks for 45 days, plucking his beard and martyring
his teeth are the known examples of the tortures given to Mawlana Faizani by the
cruel authority of the dark monarchy era (1953-1973).
Moreover, all the things he went through added more to his commitment. The expressions
on his face seen on the photographs taken in front of the prison bars were clear indications
that Mawlana Faizani was determined to continue, as he said: "The powerful of freedom
looters can only imprison my body; but my soul, my brain,
my pen as well as my conscious is free and independent.
I will continue my campaign through my pen and brain."
Hence interpretation of his higher thoughts and deep emotion
resulted in 52 valuable books on different matters." |
