MAWLANA'S FAIZANI BOOKS ON HUMANITY

Inward and Outward Faults Part 2

In the Name of the Exalted Fashioner Who fashioned us in the best of shapes, greetings and blessings be upon the soul of Nabi Muhammad (pbuh).

"If we fail to understand this concept methodologically, then it is impossible to succeed in it. Therefore, many researchers and scrutinizing philosophers have relied upon the 6666 verses of the Untouched Quran of Islam and on the Hadith (the words of Nabi Muhammad, Peace be upon him) to prove that Man's body consists of two elements: the Soul (Rooh) and the Ego (Nafs). They have found the Heart to be like a Steering Wheel of a car or a Computer placed in the body, and they have accepted its activities as being either of Angelic Inspiration or of Satanic Temptation, that is, towards either Good or Evil. This is done by using both the Brain's deep Store and the Heart's every Cell."

From the book: Knowing Oneself - Knowing God ›› by Mawlana Faizani.

Now that we have accepted the original motives as being hidden inside this creature called Man, we need to explore the internal world with the help of some tools. The main tool is knowledge. Our bestowed knowledge has the capability to explore, and expand, wherever it is applied. This tool has helped us to invent many things from a needle, to airplanes and satellites, and to discover the oceans, mountains, the outer atmosphere, and what lies beneath the earth. It has helped us to conquer animals, nature, and energy. Hence, this knowledge, if applied, will also help us discover and explore the hidden world inside ourselves. In other words, our knowledge is capable of exploring the secrets of the invisible (spiritual) world as well. Therefore, it is our duty to expand our knowledge in this very important realm, a realm in which "If we fail to understand this concept methodologically, then it is impossible to succeed in it." So now, let us have our first glimpse in this realm, and take our first step.

The prime source of this noble knowledge is of course the generous Qur'an and the Hadith of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). To comprehend a simple math book, for example, we need to have the appropriate knowledge as well as the assistance of the teachers. Without this knowledge and assistance, we would be wasting our time, drawing almost no benefit out of our reading of the math book. Therefore, how can the mother of all books, especially heavenly books, and the words of the All-Knowing and Wise Creator be understood with only the simplest knowledge and piety that every individual Muslim has? Faithful Muslim philosophers and scholars who have love and talent bestowed upon them by Almighty All-Knowing Allah, are needed to assist us. They have devoted their entire lives to this subject, and have made great efforts and sacrifices not only mentally, but spiritually in particular, they have reached very high stations. It is difficult to describe their spiritual station, because Glorious Allah says about them: "...they see through My Vision which is not available for others." Finally, after very careful and serious reading, scrutinizing and researching of the entire Qur'an (6666 verse) and the Hadith, they have drawn this conclusion: "Man's body consists of two elements: the Soul and the Ego."

In the first article we discussed some contradicting behaviors of Man as being beneficial and harmful. There is no need for further discussion at this point. Now we see that inside the body two elements reside which will later prove to be contradictory as well. The worst person, that is, the most harmful and criminal one, will still, from time to time do a good deed. The most beneficial person too, is not wholly free of his need for worldly pleasures and deeds. This is also proof of the existence of the two opposing elements in the makeup of Man.

Moreover, these two main elements have opposite origins which will be discussed in later e-mails. So, we are constantly driven towards two different goals: Do it and do it not, look at her or him & do not look at her or him, go and don't go and so forth. This includes the smallest movements, thoughts, intentions, and actions up to the biggest ones. Further examples would lengthen the article, so you should think of some yourself. As a result, our thoughts, limbs, organs, eyes, head, ears, tongue, etc., will be carrying the commands.

There should be a center for these two powers or elements, just as there is a center to run a country, to control a factory, vehicle, etc. The huge factory of the body, which is at least as large as the earth, but is made smaller by the creative and great Hand of Almighty Fashioner and the Best of Creators, is also controlled and governed from its center; metaphorically speaking, the Steering or the Computer of the body (the Heart). The word Steering is used for those who are not familiar with he computer. It executes, for example, the following commands: Move legs in certain direction, stop, and turn to the left, raise head to look at a certain picture, turn hands and arms this way or that way and so forth. But, a more complete analogy would be the Computer. This needs a more thorough explanation, so it will be dealt with in future articles. At this time, however, one example will be given: You happen to remember a certain story unintentionally, as if you were a video tape with all its details. The kind of story depends of course on the occasion; worrisome and tragic ones, for example, happen especially at the time of prayer (salat). This happens because on this particular occasion, by using the Computer of the Heart's keyboard Satan gets access to that particular file in the Brain's memory or archives and uses it for evil purposes. If the story is good, then it is called Angelic Inspirations (Ilhamat Malaky). If it is evil, then it is called Satanic Temptations (Wassawess Sheitaani). In this particular case, Satan in cooperation with the Ego makes use of the Heart's Cells (keyboard)and the Brain's Store (memory) to tempt the person towards evil. In the beneficial case, however, the Angel, with the help of the Soul, uses both the Heart's Cells (keyboard) and the Brain's Stores (memory) to inspire the person towards good. Each of these factors will be discussed , with the help of Exalted Allah, in more detail in future articles. The full explanation, however, may be found thought the 52 volumes of books and Epistles of Madrassa -i- Towheed, written by Mawlana Faizani.

May Allah shower the earth with His Mercy.
