"In today's day and age when the world of Islam, as a religion, is often considered anathema, Mawlana Sahib teachings assist Muslims and non-Muslims to come to really know what Islam is and where it stands. Mawlana Sahib's teachings demonstrate that Islam is a religion of peace, a vast ocean of knowledge, where manifold wisdom and innumerable miracles wait to be discovered.

In an age filled with general spiritual emptiness, one might wonder if Mawlana Faizani's teachings could be useful for those inside and outside of the fold of Islam? I certainly believe that his teachings are useful for everyone! People of all faiths, even those lacking faith, can benefit from Mawlana Sahib's teachings. These are "nutritious teachings" that feed the human soul in a world which has gone spiritually hungry! He provides methods for people to start healing their spiritually diseased hearts, and his teachings act as crystal clear water for spiritually dehydrated people."

"Dear audience, I wish to say a few short statements on the profound personality of Mawlana Faizani Sahib. Prophet Muhammad (saw) said: 'good statements are those which are short but imply great meaning.' I intend to express to you some facts about Mawlana Faizani Sahib which are absolutely true! I witnessed these facts from him during my imprisonment in the Puli Charkhi prison.

• Mawlana Faizani Sahib was a great believer! Period.
• His strong faith and enthusiasm has had a positive impact on my entire life.
• Mawlana Faizani was extremely brave; he had no fear of anyone other than God.
• His speeches were always very impressive and brought positive change in people's hearts - they would afterwards repent for their mistakes.
• In the prison, there was a communist as well. Every time he heard Mawlana Faizani Sahib speak, he would say: "Mawlana Sahib's speeches bring happiness and self-confidence to my life. They make me repent from the erroneous communist ideology. I sincerely repent my wrong doings."
• As God is my witness, a person of Mawlana Faizani Sahib's enormity and quality cannot exist in this time.

At one occasion in the prison, I was without food; although Mawlana Faizani Sahib did not have much food for himself, he gave me whatever food he had. He was very kind, caring and compassionate. I have wonderful memories from Mawlana Sahib. I am proud of him and his son, Ustad Mazhabi Sahib. The Muslim scholars of Afghanistan and I are all deeply proud of Mawlana Faizani Sahib. I feel honored that I can make this statement about our purest national personality."

"It is difficult for anyone to fully describe Mawlana Faizani, because our capacity of knowledge and understanding falls short of the weight and substance of his powerful spirit and the roaring river of his mind. Mawlana Faizani, considered by many as the second Sayed Jamalludin went to prison seven times during the treacherous reign of Daoud Khan (1953-1973) and the republican regime. Even though the Republican reactionaries tried thousands of tricks, promises, and tortures to drive Mawlana Faizani astray and to make him abandon his intense efforts on behalf of the Afghan nation and Islam; this courageous man, this great struggler and scholar was ready to stay the course until the end!"

"Mawlana Faizani Sahib is one of the great scholars of Islam, who devoted his life in search of the truth, and acquired great levels of insight into God Almighty.

His speech was eloquent and exhibited great knowledge. His impressive and knowledgeable words penetrated the heart, and he prioritized the guidance of people to the straight path above all else. He withstood a lot of difficulties in order to obtain knowledge and left for humanity a vast library of valuable literature.

Mawlana Faizani Sahib trained and educated many students and founded the University of Insight Into God in Afghanistan. By the grace of God Almighty, the followers of this University are enlightening people all over the world. The current leader of this university, Ustad Mazhabi, has been enlightening communities in spiritual, political, and sociological ways."

  Remark by General Abdul Hakeem -

"Very respected brothers, I have known Mawlana Faizani Sahib ever since he started working against the corrupt regimes during the two so called revolutions in our country Afghanistan. When he was imprisoned by the cruel authority of (1953-1973), I was also imprisoned. While in prison, although he was going through intolerable difficulties and tortures, he still busied himself with concern for the well being of the other prisoners. One day, with great secrecy and the help of a prison guard, he sent me a small piece of paper. When I opened it, it was his writing, and it said, "If you want to remove all worries and fears then recite this verse: God is sufficient for me, none has the right to be worshipped but He, in Him I put my trust and He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne. (Qur'an, 9:129) He advised me to recite this verse seven times every morning and evening. I took his advice very seriously and persisted with it, and believe me, from that day onward, the problems, pressures, and worries of prison life no longer had a great effect on me.

This is an important memory that I have shared with you about Mawlana Faizani. I came to know Mawlana Faizani Sahib as a man of high spiritual strength, morality, love, and compassion. As I express my great respect for Mawlana Faizani Sahib, I also pray to God to join him back with his family and followers if he is still alive, otherwise may God forgive him. Amen."

"Praises and Admiration be to God, the Highest Almighty! Dear friends and carriers of knowledge, I would like to share one of the many memories which I have about the great scholar from Afghanistan, Mawlana Faizani Sahib. Certainly, Mawlana Faizani Sahib was carrying the "flag of the Islamic Movement" starting in 1959, and his activities were rapidly witnessed among many different communities (spiritual, academic, and military). At that time, I was a university graduate, and was working as a teacher for Qazi High School. I was always saddened by the fact that this great scholar with his thoughtful ideas for saving and improving the lives of the people of Afghanistan was spending his precious time in the prison cell of a cruel regime. May God's mercy and help be with him.

I recall the time when Mawlana Faizani Sahib and I, together with other brothers established and founded the Educational and Cultural centers at Karata Char, a region of Kabul. These centers functioned as libraries, and overtime they did an excellent job of educating the people. As a result of this education, the first demonstration against the corrupt government of Afghanistan were held in Karata Char. At that time no other Islamic Movement existed in Afghanistan. Mawlana Faizani Sahib proceeded from darkness toward the light, and from freedom to solitary confinement, and wrote many precious books during his stay in prison. He left behind a great spiritual and educational asset for the oppressed people of Afghanistan. His followers found an elite name and role in history.

Another amazing thing we witnessed in Mawlana Faizani Sahib during his stay in prison, was his transformation of the prison into an educational center; he provided lessons on Tafseer (formal Qur'anic interpretation), belief, Hadith, etc. Truly, he was a great teacher, careful of thought, full of compassion, a man of integrity, modest, and just; he feared none other than God, the Highest Almighty. We should read and benefit from Mawlana Faizani's books and implement their methodology in our own lives, while at the same time conveying the message to others for the happiness of God. The University of Insight Into God, which was founded by Mawlana Faizani Sahib, is now administered by Ustad Mazhabi, the eldest son of Mawlana Faizani. Ustad Mazhabi provides valuable lessons to the students of this university in various aspects of Islamic thought such as educational, political, economical, cultural, etc.. I can confirm that Ustad Mazhabi Sahib follows exactly the guidelines introduced by Mawlana Sahib Faizani. Through great obstacles and difficulties, Ustad Mazhabi Sahib is pursuing this way with bravery, strength, and determination.

I give glad tidings to Ustad Mazhabi, and his followers that if they continue with their activities, following the way of the Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h), one day the Afghan Nation will appreciate their relentless efforts and hug them with love and acceptance."

"Mawlana Faizani was not only a religious scholar, but he possessed such a vast and versatile knowledge that if you posed a historical question to him, for example about a certain nation such as 'Who are the Arabs?' he would explain it to you from Adam (as) to this moment in such detail as to even include their past kings, governments and regimes. If you posed a geographical question to him, such as "Where's Japan?" or any other country on the face of the earth, he would explain it to you in such detail as if he had built it himself. But, if you were to ask him about the history of Islam, then you would have to listen to him for forty-eight days, and he would go on and on explaining..."

"Afghanistan has been ruined from every point of view: socially, materially, economically, and politically. But most saddening is the loss in spirituality and its spiritual scholars and personalities. Fortunately, the University of Insight into God, founded by Mawlana Faizani Sahib and now under the supervision of Ustad Mazhabi Sahib, has been working for peace and justice against all oppressions and cruelties.

Mawlana Faizani's struggle for the truth, his writings and his research, is such a great lesson for all of us! Today, we remember Mawlana Faizani, who spent and devoted his entire life for the well being of his people. History remembers the cruel oppressors with abhorrence, however those who sincerely struggled for the truth without ulterior motives will be remembered with love, appreciation and become the symbols of light, guidance and hope for the rest of us. Mawlana Faizani is one such personality of whom the people are immensely proud! Not only did he leave us a great library filled with enlightening literature, but he also left us his son, Ustad Mazhabi, under whose leadership the continuation of Mawlana Faizani works and teachings are spreading all over the world. I hope that all scholars and intellectuals unite and follow the foot steps of Mawlana Faizani in their pursuit of peace and unity of the people. For hope, remembrance, and blessing to the spirit of Mawlana Sahib Faizani."

"In my speech, I'd like to relate some of my own memories of how Mawlana Faizani Sahib was an integral part of my life. At a time when the Soviet Union was trying to infect our young people with their communist ideology - by means of brain washing, under-handed propagandizing, and exploiting the peoples' poverty as a tool to convince them of the benefits of Communism, there stood a man who firmly denied and challenged their ideology and worked hard to stop its hold over the people of Afghanistan. This was Mawlana Faizani Sahib. A great leader who was interested in stabilizing and improving the life condition of the everyday Afghan person, and at the same time seeking the liberation of Afghanistan.

I became acquainted with Mawlana Sahib in 1969 (in 1348 of the Afghan Solar Calendar). He had an extended and profound knowledge of not only religion, but also many other areas of the contemporary sciences. He had such a brilliant political mind! He took great interest in writing books for the guidance of the society.

He had a profound knowledge of all Islamic and Afghani laws and regulations that existed at that time. He assisted other prisoners and would effectively function as their lawyer by compiling documents for their defense. Indeed, Mawlana Faizani Sahib also assisted me by preparing my defense for the court, which ended with my case being dismissed!

There is no doubt that Mawlana Faizani devoted his entire life to the service of the people. He constantly busied himself with writing books and speaking to people on different social and national issues. He used all available means and techniques to educate others and convey his message. Sadly, Daoud Khan and the communists resolutely determined to remove Mawlana Faizani Sahib from their way, anyway possible, - they put into practice some of the most inhumane tortures hoping to silence the roaring spirit of Mawlana Faizani and his followers."

"Being arrested and imprisoned seven times, pounding 18 thousand sticks, receiving successively electronic shocks for 45 days, plucking his beard and martyring his teeth are the known examples of the tortures given to Mawlana Faizani by the cruel authority of the dark monarchy era (1953-1973).

Moreover, all the things he went through added more to his commitment. The expressions on his face seen on the photographs taken in front of the prison bars were clear indications that Mawlana Faizani was determined to continue, as he said: "The powerful of freedom looters can only imprison my body; but my soul, my brain, my pen as well as my conscious is free and independent. I will continue my campaign through my pen and brain." Hence interpretation of his higher thoughts and deep emotion resulted in 52 valuable books on different matters."
